Your Stay at North West Private Hospital
We have a range of accommodation including:
- Single rooms with shower and toilet facilities
- 2 bed rooms with shared shower and toilet facilities
- Day Patient areas with shared facilities
All of our accommodation is classified as private and it is our aim to accommodate you as comfortably as possible. Single room allocation is based on Clinical need, as determined by the Clinical Nurse Manager in each area.
We can arrange for ministers of religion to visit at your request. Please ask staff if you require assistance.
“Mollies” Coffee Shop is located on the ground floor opposite the Maternity Department. Hot snacks, sandwiches, beverages, magazines, papers and flowers are available. Opening hours are
- Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 3:30pm
- Sat/Sun & Public Holidays - closed
We accept Eftpos and most credit cards at North West however we do not accept American Express or Diners Club cards.
All appliances must be checked by the Hospital electrican prior to being used due to workplace health and safety regulations and to ensure patient safety. Please advise staff if you have a razor or hair dryer or other piece of equipment you wish to have checked.

The Hospital does not provide a personal laundry service. Please make your own arrangements with the help of family and friends.
Mail & Faxes:
Patients can send and receive mail and faxes. Mail delivered after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address.
We offer a range of professionally prepared, delicious and healthy meals. Special dietary requirement meals are catered for on request and a dietitian is available for consultation when required.
The local paper is delivered daily to the Hospital.
A comprehensive range of pharmaceutical services are provided to inpatients at North West Private Hospital. Medications are provided to inpatients by the hospital dispensary which operates Monday to Friday. Please notify staff prior to your admission if you hold any entitlement cards, which may reduce pharmacy costs e.g. Pension, Health Care, Safety Net, Veteran’s Affairs, Senior’s Card. Please bring these cards with you when you come for admission. Accounts for any medication or other pharmacy items will form part of your hospital account.
Smoking is not permitted within the hospital or within 5 metres of the entrance and exit doors. Smoking is not permitted on the hospital campus or within 5 metres of the campus boundary.

There is a phone beside every bed for local, STD and mobile calls. ISD calls can be arranged via reception. The mobile, STD and ISD calls will be charged to your account. Please do not use mobile phones in the Hospital as they interfere with medical equipment.
There is a television at each bedside.
We recommend that valuables are left at home. Whilst we will try to ensure that all patients possessions are safe and secure we can not accept liability for any loss of patient items during a hospital stay.
Veterans’ Liaison Officer
The Hospital has a Veterans’ Liaison Officer/Care Coordinator (VLO), who is cognisant of the needs of older people and in particular the needs of Entitled Persons. The VLO coordinates with hospital treatment providers to enhance the treatment and service provided to Entitled Persons and acts as a single point of contact for DVA clients, their families and carers, ExService Organisations and DVA with particular regard to resolution of concerns and problems.
Members of your immediate family are allowed to visit at any time, however all other visitors are asked to observe the visiting hours:
- General Wards Daily 10am – 1pm & 3pm – 8pm
- Maternity Daily 3pm – 8pm
- Rest period Daily 1pm- 3pm – strictly enforced in Maternity.
Should you not wish to have visitors or telephone calls, please inform the Clinical Unit Manager or the nurse looking after you.
