Maternity Tours & Education

We encourage you to book a private maternity tour with our Maternity Care Navigator – even if you want to as part of your planning arrangements, before you’ve conceived.

You will meet our friendly and caring staff and have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with our facilities. The tour is a great way to learn more about our services available to you through your special journey including our Know My Midwife program. Contact our Maternity Care Navigator on 07 3246 3777 or hello.NWB@ramsayhealth.com.au to arrange a time.

Maternity Education – Childbirth and Parenting

North West Private Hospital is part of Ramsay Health Care, one of the world’s largest and most diverse private health care companies. Our wealth of experience in pregnancy and childbirth means we offer you access to online education modules, so you have information at your fingertips, when and where suits you.

Online Learning Centre

Our personalised childbirth and parenting education is delivered through our popular Know My Midwife Program, with individual care.

It’s designed to help you and your partner gain knowledge and confidence around pregnancy, birth and care of your baby – and to make the transition to parenthood a positive one by preparing you for the changes in your lives.

When you choose to participate in our Know My Midwife program, at your regular appointments our midwives give you the opportunity to ask questions and consider all your options in a relaxed and informal environment. Our midwives have many years of experience in both maternity care and education.

Some of the topics may include:

  • When to come to hospital and what to bring
  • Pregnancy
  • Labour and birth including variances in labour, induction, caesarean section, risks and pain relief
  • Skin to skin
  • Postnatal
  • Parenting including sleep and settling and breastfeeding

Book into our Know My Midwife Program (for patients with obstetricians participating in the program) to access face to face education.
