Our two Stryker Advanced Imaging theatres are the first theatres in Queensland to combine the market-leading technology of 4K fluorescence visualisation with an improved process flow and enhanced patient experience.
This major advance in operating theatre technology means that the surgeon is able to visualise anatomy in a way they have not been able to before. The patient experience is improved with capabilities such as live messaging from the theatre to update loved ones about the patients’ progress.

Breast & Endocrine Surgery
North West Private Hospital proudly supports a Fellowship in Breast and Endocrine Surgery. This fellowship offers an outstanding opportunity in training in breast and endocrine surgery with a substantial workload in the operating theatres, outpatients and research areas.
The Breast and Endocrine Specialists consult from the North West Breast Clinic along with a Radiation Oncologist and Medical Oncologists who provide a collaborative approach to cancer services.
Colorectal Surgery
In association with our Colorectal Surgeons we provide the services of a Specialist Stomal Therapist. This registered nurse has undergone further education in the specialty of Stomal Therapy. They are able to provide support, advice and education to patients who require not only Stoma formation but extensive colorectal surgery. Their collaboration with the Colorectal Surgeons and knowledge enable them to provide exceptional nursing care from pre-operative support through to discharge.
The Rectal Bleeding Clinic is an open access service provided by a team of Colorectal Surgeons specifically for the investigation and treatment of patients with lower rectal bleeding, be it in the majority of cases, haemorrhoids or fissures. There may be some out of pocket expenses, dependent upon the insurance level and the services provided. A referral from your GP is required. Once you have seen your GP and obtained your referral you can book into the Rectal Bleeding Clinic by calling freecall 07 3246 3145 between 0730 – 1130 Monday to Friday.
Colorectal Diagnostics is an independent diagnostic laboratory for anorectal disorders i.e. faecal incontinence, rectal prolapse, defaecation disorders, fistulae and rectal carcinoma staging. Available tests are anorectal physiology & manometry, pudendal nerve terminal motor latency, and endoanal and endorectal ultrasound. Biofeedback is also available for faecal incontinence and defaecation problems. Colorectal Diagnostics is provided by very experienced colorectal surgeons. Day Surgery Unit
If you require elective surgery or diagnostic procedures, the North West Day Surgery Unit offers a modern, comfortable setting in a fully equipped facility. This unit incorporates two day theatres, an admission area and a two stage recovery unit where patients can recuperate under the caring supervision of trained nursing staff.
Dermatology
The Dermatology Day Surgery Unit has two modern procedure rooms with recliner chairs for day stay patients.
The extensive range of services performed by the Dermatology Specialists include Laser Therapy, cutaneous biopsy and management of some skin tumours/lesions. Dermatological surgery and Moh's surgery are undertaken in the Dermatology Day Unit.
Ear, Nose and Throat
Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery for adults and children is provided.
Gastroenterology
The Gastroenterology Specialists at North West Private Hospital are provided within a modern and fully equipped facility. Open access (for insured and uninsured) patient’s as well as private clinics are available with a full range of endoscopic services including: upper gastrointestinal, endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
General Medicine
General Medical services are offered and are well supported by our specialists covering a wide range of general medical services including but not limited to endocrinology, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, cardiology, obstetric medicine, and peri-operative medicine.
General Surgery
General Surgery covers all aspects of general surgery including upper gastro-intestinal, colo-rectal and endocrine surgery.

Gynaecological Surgery

Infusion Centre

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
The Plastic Surgery at North West Private Hospital provides a broadly based plastic and reconstructive surgery service. Patients referred to this speciality include patients with skin and other malignancy requiring reconstruction and general reconstructive work. The specialists who provide this service are closely aligned with the Head and Neck clinic of the Queensland Radium Institute at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
