Dr Ben Dodd is a General Surgeon with subspecialty interest in laparoscopic upper gastrointestinal (oesophagogastric) and bariatric surgery.
After growing up in Brisbane and completing a Bachelor of Science degree, Ben graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 2001. He then completed his specialty training in the UK and Ireland, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2013.
Dr Dodd returned to Brisbane to undertake further fellowship training in complex laparoscopic upper GI cancer and bariatric surgeries at the Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals. He also completed the Australasian Fellowship exam and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) during this time.

Dr Phil Lockie

Dr Phil Lockie is a General Surgeon with an interest in Bariatric and Hernia surgery.
Dr Phil Lockie trained in Belfast Northern Ireland, where he won the Associations of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland Gold Medal 2004 at the Intercollegiate examination in General Surgery.
Dr Phil Lockie completed an oesophageal Fellowship at the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast before coming to Australia in 2003. He completed a year as the Upper GI fellow at the Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and another Laparoscopic Fellow ship year in Canberra before relocating to Brisbane with his family.

Dr Ian Shaw graduated from the University of Queensland (MBBS) in November 1994. After completing a rural scholarship in Kingaroy, Dr Shaw commenced his surgical career whilst living in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr Shaw's subsequent training in surgery was based around and completed at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). Dr Shaw updated a textbook chapter on gallstones before receiving his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Shaw then spent nearly two years at Basingstoke in the United Kingdom undergoing further training in advanced laparoscopic upper gastrointestinal surgery and liver resection for metastatic colorectal cancer.

Dr Wong is a General surgeon with expertise in obesity and metabolic surgery, oesophagogastric, gallbladder, hernia and general surgery. He is also a certified endoscopist. He trained in New Zealand after his ability for surgery was recognised in his first year working as a doctor.
